Bean Gains Additional Absentee Votes

Absentee and provisional ballots are still being counted in the 8th Congressional District race.

Democratic incumbent and Barrington resident Melissa Bean is inching closer to her Republican opponent Joe Walsh this morning, gaining 15 votes in the 8th Congressional District race. 

Cook County elections officials continued to count absentee and provisional ballots from Barrington, Palatine, Schaumburg and Hanover townships on Friday.  Bean is now trailing Walsh by 350 votes. 

Walsh has now received 97,576 votes, while Bean's totals are 97,226.  Those numbers reflect votes from Cook, Lake and McHenry counties.

Absentee and provisional ballots from McHenry and Lake counties won't be counted until Nov. 16.
