Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital's Annual Gala takes place on Saturday, September 21, at the Stonegate Conference Center. This year's theme is Nashville.

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital’s Annual Gala takes place on Saturday, September 21, at the Stonegate Conference Center.  This year’s theme is Nashville. Nashville, also known as the Music City, is a event-filled, busy city with a country vibe. What would the gala be without the fun music for all to enjoy? Be prepared to hear the fun-filled, Ron Bedal Orchestra as you’ve never heard them before! It is sure to be an exciting evening. 

 

The committee is happy to announce that they are once again hosting a wine auction as well as raffle for a 1 carat diamond necklace. Please watch for new details in the coming months as more activities are being planned.

“Proceeds from the 2013 Gala will be used for the growth and enhancement of Good Shepherd Hospital,” says Chuck Huttinger.  “You probably have already heard the news that Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital has submitted a Certificate of Need to the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board for a Campus Modernization.  Out committee is excited to be a part of bringing these changes to our community.“

Each year, several hundred guests representing civic, corporate and social communities in the northwest suburbs and Chicago attend this fabulous fundraising event.  Gala 2013, Nashville, is hosted by the 2013 Gala Committee, made up of 10 community members, business leaders and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital nurses, under the guidance of co-chairpersons, Chuck Huttinger and Peter Wuertz, MD. 

 

Community and business members include Larry Arndt, Marc Barbeau, Alison Bozile, Lauren Brynjelsen, Gene Dawson, Kellie Hartman, Barbie Hills, Fran Houlihan, Joe Kelsch, Cory Lichtenberger, Kathy Liska, Sandy Nies, Bettye Traylor, Ed Tolle and Jeanne Varwig.

 

Peter Wuertz added “This is my community, this is where I’m raising my family.  Good Shepherd Hospital may be where I work, but it’s also our family’s hospital. The growth and enhancement of Good Shepherd is important to me, both as a physician and as a community member.”

 

Since 1997, the gala has raised more than $2.5.million, which has helped shape the Women's Diagnostic Center, Spine Center of Excellence, Cancer Care Center and oncology related programs, Cardiac Care Center and cardiac related programs, Emergency Department expansion, Breast Care Center equipment, Patient Navigator Program, Congestive Heart Failure programs, as well as community-based healthy teens programs.
