Catchpenny Resale Shoppe Hosts Grand Re-Opening

Catchpenny, a resale business managed by the Auxiliary of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, will host a Grand Re-Opening on Wednesday, April 4 from 10 am to 7 pm.

Barrington, IL – Catchpenny, a resale business managed by the Auxiliary of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, will host a Grand Re-Opening on Wednesday, April 4 from 10 am to 7 pm.  Catchpenny is located in the heart of downtown Barrington at 118 E. Main Street. The Grand Re-Opening features a variety of unique items including clothing for men, women and children, jewelry and fashion accessories, books, CDs, home décor; quilts and bedding, purses, and housewares.

 

The store recently underwent a renovation and would like to thank its contributors and customers for their 42 years of continued support. The Catchpenny over the years, has proudly contributed $3,585,200.00 to help underwrite numerous hospital innovations.  These include hospital expansion projects such as the Outpatient Pavilion and most recently, the Cardiac Care Center and the Emergency Department expansion.  The Auxiliary has also used proceeds from the business to purchase various types of medical equipment and other items to enhance patient comfort and care.

The Catchpenny originally opened for business in downtown Barrington November 2, 1970 at 211 Park Avenue. In July of 1972, the shop was moved to 118 East Main, its current location.  The store is operated entirely by volunteers who range in age from high school students to senior citizens over 90.
