Barrington 220 Parent University Explores Nutrition Tips for Children

Parents can RSVP now for the October 29 session.

Do you know the difference between whole, 2% and skim milk is really just one ingredient?

Dietitian Melodi Peters will give parents all the information they need at “Kids Eat Right: Food and Nutrition Tips for School-Age Children.”

The Barrington Parent University session will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St. To RSVP, visit Barrington 220’s website.

Parents will be able to sample healthy foods while getting information on the most important nutrition issues facing children today.

Peters is a dietitian at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and writes the monthly Tasty Tuesday newsletter in Barrington 220. She will also teach parents about My Plate and Go, Slow, Whoa Foods, two nutrition guidelines taught in our schools. Also, learn how to create a "Safe House" and encourage children to develop healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime.
