Barrington Boys Swimmers Take Sectionals

BHS will compete at the state championship at New Trier over the weekend.

Barrington came out in front at the swimming and diving sectionals held at Barrington High School this weekend.

Team scores were: Barrington 272, Stevenson 212, Fremd 172, Cary-Grove Coop 158, Hoffman Estates 110, according to the IHSA website. 

BHS won the 400-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay. Kyle Ujiye won the 100-yard butterfly.

Other state qualifiers include Jack Strauss, 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle; Ethan Meister, diving; Brandon Baranowski, 100-yard backstroke; Sam Miseyka, 100-yard  breast stroke; and Connor Kobida, 100-yard  breast stroke. 

The relay teams consisted of Strauss, Ujiye, Chris Vega, Piekarski, Miseyka, Baranowski.

The state final meet will be held at New Trier in Winnetka, Feb. 22-23.
