Barrington High School Student Given State-Wide Volunteer Award

Jake Herb, 16, is one of eight distinguished finalists in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a national program honoring middle level and high school students for outstanding volunteer service.

that has raised $35,000 for Joplin, Mo. tornado relief efforts. The town was devastated by the natural disaster in May of 2011. The group has provided Joplin High School with $18,000 to buy new technology supplies, and $17,000 to help rebuild a families home.
