Barrington Teacher, Student Win National Quizbowl Awards
Some of Barrington’s brightest were recognized for their academic achievements this month during the National Quizbowl Awards. The awards are sponsored by the National History Bee and Bowl.
According to a press release, Jeff Price, a Barrington Middle School-Station Campus teacher, has been named National Middle School Coach of the Year. Pranav Sivakumar, a Station Campus student, has been named National Middle School Player of the Year by the organization. Price helped lead the Station team to a national championship this spring. Sivakumar came in second place in the Scripps National Spelling Bee this year.
Price and Sivakumar were chosen among others nationwide for the honor.

The National Quizbowl Awards were started “as a way to help recognize some of America’s brightest students and most dedicated academic coaches for their tremendous accomplishments at the highest level of academic competition,” the website states.
