BHS Dance, Cheer, Flags Hold Competition Showcase

Program begins at Barrington High School gym at 4 p.m.

 

A competition showcase will give BHS teams the opportunity to perform in a positive and supportive environment, prior to the start of the 2011-2012-competition season. The showcase will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 4 p.m., in the main gym.

  • Barrington Broncettes

The 2011-2012 Barrington Broncette Dance Team consists of 14 JV members and 20 Varsity members coached by Kristin DiGilio and Lauren Kenny.  The girls compete in both the open dance and open pom categories through Team Dance Illinois.  The Varsity Broncettes took 2nd place in Open Pom at the TDI State competition in 2011 and won the state title for Open Pom in 2010.

  • Barrington Cheerleading

The 2011-2012 Barrington Cheerleading program consists of 50 members and are coached by Laura Meehan, Caroline Milne, and Jason Pike.  Both the junior varsity and varsity teams compete in five regular season competitions and the varsity team competes in the IHSA State Series in the Co-Ed division. Most recent accomplishments include top three finishes at all regular season competitions in 2010-2011, 3rd place at the IHSA State Finals in 2009, 4th place in 2010, and 7th place in 2011.

  • Barrington Flags

The 2011-2012 BHS Flags Team consists of 16 Varsity members coached by Lauren Wilhelms and Kelsey Briggs. This year the girls will be competing in the Traditional Lyrical Category. Last season the BHS Flags Team won third place at state and second place at the three regional competitions they competed in during the 2010-2011 season. This season the girls will be competing at Schaumburg High School on December 17th, Palatine High School on January 21st, and Lake Zurich High School on January 29th.
