BHS Fine Arts Presents 'Hello Dolly!'

“Hello Dolly!” comes to with five shows between Thursday, March 1 and Sunday, March 4. 

“Hello, Dolly!” is a romantic comedy musical that follows the story of Dolly Levi, a strong-willed matchmaker at the turn of the last century, who travels to Yonkers in an attempt to find a match for the miserly “unmarried half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder. In doing so, she convinces his niece, her intended, and Horace’s two clerks to travel to New York City.

 Julie Salk is producer, co-director and choreographer. Nancie Tobison is co-director and vocal director. Bonnie Spurling is assistant vocal director; associate choreographer is Ellen Werksman. Randy Karon is conductor; Amy Jessup is technical director; Sharon Schmidt is the costumer; set design and master carpenters are Jason D. Burke and Jason Kaiser. The Design Team is Jason D. Burke, Amy Jessup, Jason Kaiser, Julie Salk, Sharon Schmidt and Nancie Tobison. Graphic designer is Brian Mathien.

 The show’s lead roles are double cast with Dolly played by both Andrea Schumann and Tannah Wieneke. Horace Vandergelder is played by both Harry Fox and JP Morgan.

 The show will be staged at the Richard C. Johnson Auditorium at Barrington High School. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on March 1, 2 and 3. There will be 2:30 p.m. matinees on March 3 and 4.

 Tickets prices are $12 for adults, $8 for students/children and a $5 senior citizen donation is encouraged. All seats are reserved. The box office will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Feb. 27 though March 2, and one hour before each performance. Tickets can also be purchased online for “Hello Dolly.”
