Former Lines Teacher Returns After 5 Year Break

Pamela Blue will be a first-grade teacher at Lines Elementary School this year. She is one of 42 new teachers in District 220 in the 2012-2013 school year.

Pamela Blue is one of 42 new teachers this year, but this isn’t her first go-round in District 220.

Not only did Blue attend as a child, but she was also a third grade teacher at the school for nine years before deciding to take a break from teaching to raise her daughter. Now that her daughter is entering Lines as a Kindergartener, Blue decided it was time to come back to the classroom.

“I get a little choked up,” Blue said of her daughter entering the same school she once attended. “It’s overwhelming.”

Blue will be back at Lines Elementary as a first-grade teacher this year. She said the timing just worked out that an opening was available when she was ready to return to work. However, being at Lines is a lot more than just work for Blue.

“Lines is home to me. It’s my family,” Blue said.

After a nine-year break from the classroom, Blue said she’s ready and eager to be back.

“I’m so looking forward to returning to teaching and being at the school that I love. I’m looking forward to my daughter having the same wonderful experience that I had when I was younger. I’m looking forward to being home,” she said.

We’ll have more teacher profiles leading up to the start of the school year on Aug. 21.
