Four Barrington Students Selected as Golden Scholar Finalists

Four Barrington High School students have been chosen as finalists for scholarship funds through the Golden Apple Foundation and have gone "through a rigorous selection process by the organization to make it to this final interview stage," according to the Barrington 220 Community Unit School District Facebook page.

Those selected as Golden Apple Scholars will receive a total of $23,000 in college scholarships and stipend funds. The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program identifies talented high school seniors and college sophomores who have the promise and drive to be excellent teachers in high-need schools.

The 175 students named 2014 Golden Apple Scholars will be announced in February. BHS has had more students selected as Golden Apple Scholars than any other high school in Illinois the past five years.
