The Ivy Hill Elementary Running Club had a great fall season that culminated with the 5th Annual Fun Run on Friday, Sept. 21.

The students raised $380 for Special Olympics Illinois.

Prior to the run, Dan Conley, Area Director for the non-profit organization, led the students in the Special Olympics oath, “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”

He said the money will help with events for their athletes. Everyone enjoyed the refreshments after the race donated by Wheeling Auto Center, Mariano’s Fresh Market, Harvest Fresh, O-Nits owner Marc Palano and Target.  At the finish line, each runner received a medal from PTA and a Special Olympics O-Nit donated by O-Nits.

The Fun Run was a huge success and our volunteers were a big part of that.
