Lines Elementary Commit to Fun Run/Walk

Entire school participating in fundraiser this week.

Hundreds of children will be running and walking in the neighborhood around Arnett C. Lines Elementary School in Barrington for the school’s Fun Run/Walk.

“They are really excited,” said Melissa Paris, vice-president of the school’s PTO. “They filled out a form and made a pledge to run one mile, two or three miles.”

Lines Elementary has done similar fundraisers but it’s the first through the school’s Lines Committed program. The idea behind the program is to have students committed to “yourself, your school and be your best, never give up,” Paris said.

The Fun Run/Walk takes place at the school from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, October 10. The entire school will be participating and will have a pep rally just before heading out on the route.

All donations from the Fun Run/Walk will help fund a new projector and a rotating art wall in the school, Paris said.
