Rihanna Sends Barrington High School $5,000 for Late Appearance

Rihanna came to the school after BHS-TV won a contest sponsored by the pop-star.

Rihanna’s visit to Barrington High School this spring sparked controversy when the pop star showed up more than three hours late.

To make up for her tardiness, the singer recently sent a check to the school for $5,000 for “expenses due to her late appearance” and to help pay for new equipment at the school, the District 220 Facebook page reports.

Many residents sounded off on the Facebook page regarding the issue.
