Student Safety Smart Phone App Discussed at Board of Education Meeting

The board is considering promoting the app called LifeLine Response.

The Barrington 220 School Board is considering promoting a smart phone app geared at protecting children in emergency situations, the Daily Herald reports.

LifeLine Response is a phone application that can be activated when a person pushes his thumb on the phone in a threatening situation, the website explains. If the person removes his thumb for 20 seconds, an alert is sent to local police. The app includes GPS information so the person’s location is also sent to authorities.
