Was Rihanna 'Unapologetic' at Barrington High School?

Rihanna thanked the Barrington students for waiting, but she never actually said "I'm sorry," at the student assembly after arriving three and one-half hours late.

Was Rihanna, whose newest release is titled "Unapologetic," truly unapologetic after arriving at Barrington High School three and one-half hours late, for her scheduled visit, Friday?

Rihanna did thank the students for waiting for her. "That means a lot to me," she said. Prior to arriving, Principal Steve McWilliams reported that Rihanna was apologetic for running late.

Rihanna also provided more than $2,500 in concert tickets and other giveaways while everyone waited for her arrival, according to Barrington 220 on Facebook.

However, Barrington Patch's Facebook page received numerous comments critical of Rihanna.

Here are some comments from Barrington Patch Facebook:

Elvia Alejandra Salazar -- I am livid !!! Money really doesn't buy you class! Rihanna shows up not 1 not 2 but 3 hours late gives no apology and stays for about 10 min. and leaves.

Michael Scodius -- If you think that she was in control of any part of this situation, you're wrong . . . Although, she could have had a thought of her own and apologized.

Lori Hardig Nolan-- So sad for those kids that waited....speechless at her disregard for them.

What do you think? Was Rihanna's eventual appearance, thanks and praise for the students enough or should she have said "I'm sorry?" Tell us in the comments.
