Former Football Player Paralyzed in 1999 Dies

Robert Komosa, 30, died at his home in Barrington Hills over the weekend.

 

A former Rolling Meadows High School football player who was paralyzed during a practice in 1999 has died at the age of 30, according to a Chicago Tribune article. 

Robert Komosa died Saturday evening at his home in Barrington Hills, according to the article.

As a junior at Rolling Meadows High School, Komosa suffered serious head injuries during a football practice, was paralyzed from the neck down and needed to use "a ventilator to help him breathe" following the injuries, according to the Chicago Tribune.
