Title Boxing Club Opens Soon in Lake Zurich

Lake Zurich’s newest fitness club, Title Boxing, located at 235 S. Rand Rd, is expected to open this week. 

Title Boxing is a great way to get in shape, according to Michelle Sikorski, club manager, burning some 800-1000 calories per hour.

The club is currently offering a discount for the first 100 members, which includes no enrollment fee and a free pair of boxing gloves.

“The concept of Title Boxing started in Kansas City with Danny Campbell, a former boxer. He knew what a great workout boxing is. It gets you in the best shape of your life,” Sikorski said. “He wanted to make it mainstream so anybody could do it—a mom, construction worker or eight-year-old. Anybody could benefit.”

Sikorski said the club offers classes in total body boxing and kickboxing fitness. Called the Power Hour, the fitness classes include a 15-minute warm-up and rounds of punch and kick-punch combinations.

“It’s like having personal training without the heavy price tag,” she said.

The club also offers one-on-one training in the boxing ring, free weights and cardiovascular machines.

Title Boxing of Lake Zurich is owned by Long Grove resident Marvin Somlo, who also owns a Title Boxing Club in Crystal Lake, which opened in November. 

“You don’t need any experience in boxing to come in and most of our clientele is female,” Sikorski said. “After work, our Crystal Lake club is packed with women. To punch something relieves so much stress. How often as females can we go punch something? It’s an empowerment thing. Learning to punch makes you feel stronger.”

 Sikorski said the club wants to be involved in the Lake Zurich community. 

“Families can come here and people can run into their neighbors. It will be a comfortable and fun place to come to. If it’s fun, you’re more likely to stick with it," Sikorski said.
