Barrington Men Swim English Channel for Charity

Track the progress of Doug McConnell and Don Macdonald as they swim the English Channel Aug. 21.

Barrington residents Doug McConnell and Don Macdonald are braving the waters of the English Channel this morning all in the name of charity. 

McConnell is swimming to benefit ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He lost his father to the disease in 2006, and hopes to raise as much as $100,000 for the organization. 

Macdonald is raising money for the Social Emotional Learning programs via the Educational Foundation.
