L.E.R.T. Disaster Training

St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 720 Dundee Ave., Barrington, IL is providing two opportunities in April to train volunteers to respond to a weather-related or financial-related crisis.

The second session on Saturday, April 28th is being hosted by Lutheran Church Charities and teaches their disaster response program called L.E.R.T. (Lutheran Early Response Teams).  After the session, trainees will be certified to work on site with a disaster response team while complying with federal guidelines that require this training.  Core training areas include: clean up & debris removal, chainsaw safety, flood & storm surge training, and the 3 phases of disaster work.
