Barrington-Area Flood Related Road Closures: June 26

Many roadways have been deemed impassable due to high waters.

Several roads are impassable in the area as officials urge motorists to drive with caution. 

Meanwhile, a flash flood warning is in effect for the area through 11:30 a.m. A heavy downpour brought as much as four inches of rain to some areas early Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. 

Motorists should avoid the following roadways: 

  • Elm Road in the Jewel Park neighborhood is closed. 
  • Lake Cook Road and Route 14: Several lanes closed due to flooding
  • Arlington Heights Road south of Route 83: Lanes closed due to flooding.
  • Miller Road easte of Route 59: lanes closed due to flooding.
  • Quentin Road south of Highway 12 closed due to flooding.
  • Cuba Road is closed in both directions due to flooding.
  • Route 14 between Lake Cook and Route 59: Lanes closed due to flooding. 
  • Hart Road near Barrington High School is flooded. 
  • Intersection of Country Club Road and Hickory in the Heights is flooded.
  • Ela Road is closed north and south of Route 12 and south of Lake Cook Road.
