Some Illinois cities and villages were quick to jump on the video gaming bandwagon, amending local ordinances to allow video gaming as soon as the Illinois Gaming Board set up guidelines.
The village of Barrington was not one of those towns. But, it now faces the question of whether video gaming should be allowed in restaurants and bars that have a liquor license.
Local restaurant owners are asking the village to allow video gaming.
Village staff will be giving a presentation on the issue at the Village Board meeting tonight, Monday, Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. at the Barrington village hall, 200 S. Hough St., Barrington.
The Board of Trustees also want to get the public’s input before making a decision on this issue next month.
