Barrington’s Annual Scarecrow Festival Features Lots of Fun

Barrington’s 13th Annual Scarecrow Festival

The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 12 at Memorial Park in downtown Barrington. The free festival features pony rides, inflatable games and scarecrow, pumpkin and cookie decorating. A DJ will be on hand with favorite spooky songs. A variety of food will be available for purchase. Families can get materials for scarecrows but can bring clothing and accessories to personalize their creations.

The Hills are Alive, Barrington Hills Heritage Fest

Come join your Barrington Hills neighbors for an afternoon of family fun. The first annual "The Hills Are Alive" will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday October 13, at the Barrington Hills Park District Riding Center. The event will be an opportunity to meet your neighbors in a fun relaxed atmosphere. Showcased will be programs, foods, and activities that contribute to the unique character of Barrington Hills and its residents. Among the activities: pony rides, balloon creations, face painting, equestrian demonstrations, hay rides, music, pumpkin painting, chicken beauty contest, Sparky the Fire Dog and an exotic animal show.
