Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble Presents 'The Nutcracker'

Enjoy this holiday favorite Nov. 30 through Dec. 2.

  Experience the beauty of The Nutcracker this holiday season, performed by the Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble.  Several area students are main characters in the show. Hannah Ray is cast as the Dew Drop Fairy and Brittany Bonefas of Lake Zurich High School is The Snow Queen. Both girls are in the process of auditioning for university dance programs and professional dance companies to further their careers.  As in years past, the dance company will perform the Tchaikovsky classic Friday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 2 at Barrington High School. Tickets are $25 for adults and $22 for students and seniors. Balcony tickets for the Friday and Saturday night shows are $15, but balcony seats are limited. Tickets should be reserved by calling …

PHOTOS: Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble Enjoys Carnaval Gala

Proceeds from the event will benefit BYDE’s arts education mission and the 2012 production of The Nutcracker

On Saturday, October 13, supporters of the Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble (BYDE) were treated to a lively evening of Latina dance, dining and carousel rides at the Eden Palais Carousel House on the Barrington Hills estate of Jasper and Marian Sanfilippo.  The evening began with docent led tours of the Sanfilippo home featuring the Place de la Musique, a world-renowned collection of antique music machines, phonographs, and arcade games within a breathtaking French Second Empire setting. The evening ended with a spirited auction and rides on the spectacular Eden Palais, a beautifully restored 1890 carousel with 36 hand-carved Hübner horses and four ornate rocking gondolas.  Proceeds from the event will benefit BYDE’s arts education mission …
