It's time for our weekly Chowdown Showdown! Where's the best place for martinis in the Barrington and Lake Zurich area? You know the drill: All you need to do is sign into our site and then comment below with your vote. Feel free to elaborate on why this bar or restaurant is the best. Readers in Lake Zurich Patch and Barrington Patch have been telling us all week which bakeries have the best pastries. By 5 p.m. Friday, the results showed Ambrosia Euro American Patisserie beat out Doux Creme, Gavi Cafe and Sweet Whimsy's for the Reader's Choice Award. Stay tuned next week's Chowdown Showdown!

It's time to vote for the bakery that has the best pastries in Lake Zurich and Barrington! Based on your votes on Patch, and on Facebook and Twitter, here are the top contestants. Now it is time to select the Chowdown Showdown Pastry Champion. Please note a change (outlined in the PDF at right) to way winners will be named. A point system will be used to score the contenders, which will be judged based on votes as well as on ratings in our business directory, Patch Places. Who has the best hot dogs in the area?
Readers in Lake Zurich and Barrington have been telling us all week which restaurants serve the best hot dogs in the area. By 5 p.m. Friday, the results showed Bellaluke's of Lake Zurich winning with 940 of the 1,903 votes received. Delicious Redd's of Lake Zurich came in second place with 457 votes. Bellaluke's is located at 193 S. Rand Road. Stay tuned for next week's Chowdown Showdown!
