Village of North Barrington Honored with Community of the Year Plaque

The village was given the honor by the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission on Nov. 8.

  The village of North Barrington was named the “Community of the Year” by the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission in ceremonies held Nov. 8 at the county Central Permit Facility in Libertyville. A plaque was presented by the Commission to Albert Pino, Village President. While accepting the award he recognized village staff and their consultants for outstanding work that earned this tribute. He said that 30 percent of the village budget goes into stormwater management. The Commission staff wrote that “The Village is being recognized for its on-going efforts to reduce flooding and improve water quality in the village and the Flint Creek Watershed…the Village has made a long-term commitment to doing its part to protect Flint Creek …
