Lawsuit claims Kildeer did not not perform police services paid for by Deer Park.
Deer Park is claiming that the village paid at least $1.1 million and possibly in excess of $1.6 million for police services to Kildeer that were not performed, according to Trustee of Public Safety for Deer Park, Jim Denny. The damages’ figure is based on recent testimony from expert witnesses, said Denny. Deer Park’s lawsuit against Kildeer for breach of contract and fraud was first filed in Lake County Circuit Court in March of 2012; Deer Park terminated its contract for police service in November of 2011 and switched to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Lake Zurich Fire Rescue responded to fire on Sumac Court this morning.
A basement fire in Deer Park, this morning, was extinguished within 10 minutes of firefighter's arrival on the scene, however the home had significant smoke damage, according to David Pilgard, of Lake Zurich Fire Rescue. Lake Zurich responded to 21452 Sumac Court in Deer Park, at 9:06 a.m., after homeowners smelled smoke. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the first-due officer reported visible smoke from the first floor front door with all occupants and animals accounted for, according to the news release from Lake Zurich Fire Rescue. Upon entering the lower level, the fire officer reported that a sectional couch was on fire. Drug collection events aim to combat prescription drug abuse.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will be participating once again in the National Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Prescription Drug Take Back event on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012. The Sheriff’s Office will be conducting events at the Beach Park Village Hall, 11270 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park as well as the Deer Park Village Hall, 23680 W. Cuba Road, Deer Park. Both locations will be open from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.
