Hoffman Estates Boy's Death Likely An Accident

The Chicago Tribune reported that police believe the Saturday death of Allan Fernandez was an accident.

Police believe the Saturday death of an 11-year-old boy in Hoffman Estates was an accident, the Chicago Tribune reported. Hoffman Estates police were called to a home in the 1200 block of Mallard Lane at 1:44 p.m. Saturday. Police said that the boy was unconscious and not breathing when they arrived. He was taken to Saint Alexius Medical Center and pronounced dead at 3 p.m. The boy had a puncture wound to his chest, but an autopsy did not find what had caused the wound and a gunshot had been ruled out, the newspaper reported. The Daily Herald reported that neighbors said they heard that the boy was playing on Cook County Forest Preserve property and fell out of a tree. Hoffman Estates Boy's Death A Mystery

An 11-year-old boy in Hoffman Estates died Saturday. The cause of his death is under investigation.

The death of an 11-year-old boy in Hoffman Estates remains a mystery after a Sunday autopsy was inconclusive, the Chicago Tribune reported. Hoffman Estates police were called to a home in the 1200 block of Mallard Lane at 1:44 p.m. Saturday. Police said that the boy was unconscious and not breathing when they arrived. He was taken to Saint Alexius Medical Center and pronounced dead at 3 p.m. The boy had a puncture wound to his chest, the Chicago Tribune reported, however, the wound was not a gunshot. The cause of the wound remains unclear, the newspaper reported.
