Go Beyond Barrington to Hold Jammin' for Joplin Concert

The group is raising money to rebuild a home in Joplin, Missouri.

A group of Barrington High School students is making a difference in the lives of others. The club called Go Beyond Barrington was started last year as a way for students to empower those in need outside of the Barrington area. After a tornado devastated the town of Joplin, Missouri, killing 157 people and destroying thousands of homes, the students to dedicate their efforts toward helping Joplin rebuild. They raised $18,000 that went to the engineering program at Joplin High School. “We went down there and saw the destruction first hand and it inspired us to make a change on a personal level by actually helping a family there,” said Becca Mooney, a Barrington High School Junior and Board Member with Go Beyond Barrington.
