UPDATE: Police Say Attmpted Abduction was 'Unfounded'
The alleged abduction took place near 4th Avenue and Lincoln Avenue.
UPDATE, 4:35 p.m.: Libertyville Police Sgt. Dennis Meserve said the previous reports of an attmpted child abduction in Libertyville "were unfounded." Meserve said a 9-year-old boy made a false report. The matter will be handled with the boy's parents. ---------- Original story, 4:15 p.m.: Libertyville Police are investigating an alleged attempted child abduction. The alleged incident apparently took place while the child was walking home from school, according to the Lake/McHenry County Severe Weather Report Facebook page.
