MLK Had a Dream; What's Yours?

Martin Luther King's famous 'I Have a Dream' speech inspired many to think about injustice and how they might help combat it. Patch wants to know what your dream is for a better world.

Fifty years ago, Martin Luther King delivered his rousing "I Have a Dream" speech to a crowd of 250,000 in front of the Lincoln Memorial after leading a peaceful demonstration in Washington, D.C. "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,' King said on Aug. 28, 1963. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.? Stations of the Dream Commemorates Civil Rights Movement

Barrington Area Ministerial Association sponsors experiential journey into the mission of Dr. Martin Luther King.

  The Barrington Area Ministerial Association will hold the 3rd annual Stations of the Dream, at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Chapel, 180 N. Hawthorne, Barrington Hills. The experiential journey will allow attendees the opportunity to walk where Civil Rights heroes walked and to experience some of the events that led up to the Civil Rights act of 1964.  See actual news clips of the Freedom Riders’ bus, the segregated Woolworth’s lunch counter, the march to Selma, the rubble of the 16th Avenue Baptist Church, and President Johnson signing the bill with the Rev.
