Barrington’s G. Whiz to Close Shop
Locally owned store to hold retirement/closing sale for loyal customers, Feb. 7; public sale Feb. 8.
A popular Barrington gift store, G. Whiz, will close its doors after two decades. The last day the store will be open is March 31. “We’ve been here a long time in this community and I’m excited about the next step,” said Jan Cunningham who owns the store with her husband, Bob. The next step for the Cunninghams is semi-retirement. The Cunnighams own Pandora stores in Deer Park and in Tucson, AZ. They plan to split their time between Arizona and Barrington, which allows them to spend time with both of their sons. Their oldest son, Matthew, is a financial consultant in Chicago.
