Woof! I’m Murphy, and I’m such a snuggle bug that the first time I nudge you with my nose so you can hug me close, you’ll be in love with me. I’m a 12-year-old shepherd/collie mix that was left to die at a local shelter, but Young at Heart rescued me in the nick of time, and now I am enjoying fluffy beds, romps in the yard, and lots of love in my foster home. I am such a good boy, I’m an instant companion! Just add love! I am good with other dogs, housebroken, and trustworthy in the house while you are gone. I do have arthritis of my spine and hips, so a house without stairs is best, but now that I am on a daily dose of Rimadyl, I’m feeling SO much better! I enjoy little romps in the yard, and going for short walks, but I am perfectly …

A quiet, loving home is all she needs.
Hi there! I’m Gia, and I think you’ll agree that I am quite a beautiful lady! I am an 8-year-old Mainecoon mix (did my gorgeous coat give it away?), and I am oh-so-sweet. My previous family surrendered me to a shelter because of allergies, and I was so incredibly scared there! It’s loud and there is nowhere to get comfortable! You can’t hide and I was very stressed out. Thankfully, Young at Heart Pet Rescue took me in, and I’m starting to relax again. When you come to meet me, you’ll notice I’m a little shy, but please don’t let that deter you from becoming my friend. This sweet senior kitty is young at heart.
My name is Baby, and my story is unfortunately a common story with older pets that end up in shelters. When my owner passed away, I was left alone and scared in my house all alone. A neighbor picked me up from my home and took me to a shelter, where I was going to be put down just because of my age! Thankfully, Young at Heart Pet Rescue came to my aid, and now I’m safe and sound in their care while I wait for a new family to love. I’m a 12-years-young Petite Muted Calico, but you’d never know my age based on my looks! I’m great with other cats and came to Young at Heart with my housemate, Pumpkin. Loving home wanted for 500th senior pet rescued by Young at Heart.
Hi! I’m Daytona 500! Yep, that is the world’s Most Awesome Name, given to me, the 500th senior pet rescued by Young at Heart Pet Rescue! Yessir, 500 is a big number when you’re talking about senior pets saved, and I couldn’t be more proud to be the big 5-0-0! You see, being an 8-year-old shepherd/collie mix at a shelter where they have to euthanize for space, I was “numero uno” in line for a very sad ending. But Young at Heart just couldn’t leave an awesome dog like me behind, and so, I found myself on a car ride to a new life! Thirteen years ago, I was a ball of string-capturing, feather-pouncing energy when my owner adopted me as a kitten. They named me Emily, and I grew up knowing the love and companionship of a kind guardian. But a few months ago, something changed. Everything in our house was packed up into cardboard boxes, and I kept trying to snuggle up in one, too, but my owner would shoo me away and put more household items into it instead. When the moving van showed up, I was put into my carrier, and I was waiting to begin our next adventure together.
