Crews Work to Clear Snow Covered Streets

Barrington Public Works crews are working hard to plow village streets.

The fresh snow fall may look pretty, but it can be a dangerous thing for drivers. Barrington Public Works crews have been working since 4:30 this morning to clear the snow covered roads.  Public Works Assistant Director Mark Werksman said nearly a dozen snow plows are out in the village this afternoon.  "We have about 11 or 12 trucks out right now, and we'll have our full fleet of trucks on the street at 2 or 3 a.m. for overnight clean-up," Werksman said.  Public Works says has a priority system for their snow removal plan.  "The main focus is emergency and school routes; main arterials like Hough Street and Hart Road," Werksman said.  "Then we plow school routes, then residential streeets, alleys and cul-de-sacs."  The snow should taper …
