Starting on Valentine's Day, The Garlands of Barrington celebrates 10th anniversary with photographic exhibit.
The Garlands of Barrington, an award-winning, continuing-care retirement community, celebrates its 10th Anniversary and commitment to the community with a tribute to its members’ in a photographic narrative exhibit entitled "Commitment: Stories of Lasting Love." The exhibit features inspiring stories of Garlands members’ kept vows, love and devotion that span a lifetime, offering a rare, intimate glimpse at lasting love. The show will be on display at The Gallery at The Garlands, 1000 Garlands Lane, Barrington, from Valentine’s Day through the end of April. The exhibit’s portraits, taken by photographer Brian Warling, and short stories, as told by husbands and wives and written by Kathy Wolf and Mary Klest, feature 16 perspectives …

Is it Adele, Whitney or Frank Sinatra? I've shared mine; now it's your turn.
You know what it's like when you go to one of those restaurants with menus that are just too big. Too many choices and you get overwhelmed. Well that's pretty much how I felt when I decided to create this "Top Ten Best Love Songs According to Claudia" list. After all, most songs are about love, so there are millions to choose from. Do I focus on songs that have personal meaning in my life, songs from my favorite artists, songs that are critically acclaimed? Basically, I started with my favorite artists and after doing some Google and YouTube searches kept stumbling onto other love songs that I love. There are so many to choose from.
Valentine’s Day is less than a week away, and love is in the store aisles. What better way to celebrate the Hallmark holiday than to come up with a list of the worst romantic comedies of all time. You know how it goes. There are two attractive, likeable characters that are meant to be together, but for whatever reason, are kept apart. Sometimes it’s a goofball friend, conniving ex-girlfriend or shady past that keep the two star-crossed lovers apart. Until surprising circumstances bring them together for a happily-ever after. Not all rom coms are created equally, though, and some are worse than others.
