  Barrington Aglow Saturday, Dec. 1 all day, throughout Barrington   Don’t miss this Christmas tradition in the village of Barrington. Take the free trolley to shopping centers all over town including The Foundry, the Shops at Lageschulte, Ice House Mall, and the village center. Each shopping center has something special planned including a petting zoo at The Foundry, and story time with Mrs. Claus at the Ice House Mall. The village tree lighting ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. at the corner of Park and Cook Streets near Main Street. Visits with Santa are from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the red house on Cook Street. Weekend Planner: Free Holiday Wine Walk, Ice House Mall Play

Area happenings for the weekend of Nov. 16-19.

  Holiday Wine Walk Throughout Barrington, 2-6 p.m. Saturday Nov. 17 Kick off the holidays in downtown Barrington with the free Holiday Wine Walk. Sponsored by the village merchants, enjoy free wine and food while shopping in Barrington stores. An amazing selection of wine has been chosen and provided by Heinen’s wine department and Ciao Baby! in downtown Barrington. McGonigal’s, the Annex, and Chessie’s are also sponsors. Weekend Planner: Trick or Treat Trot, Ice House Mall Trick-or-Treating

Local happenings for the weekend of Oct. 26-28.

  Trick-or-Treating at the Ice House Mall Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 200 Applebee Street Bring your kids in costume to the Ice House Mall to trick-or-treat at local retailers. All stores will have goodies to pass out to the kids. Trick or Treat Trot Saturday, Oct. 27 at 8 a.m., Citizens Park Lodge, 511 Lake Zurich Road.  Head to Citizens Park for the 6th annual Barrington Breakfast Rotary Trick or Treat Trot. There are 3 events to choose from: The Spooky 5k trail run/ fitness walk, the 1 mile trail course and the 100 yard dash for children 2 to 9 years old.
