New Chinese Immersion Teacher Joins Rose School
Xia Du came to District 220 from Minnetonka, Minn.
Barbara Rose Elementary School welcomed a new Chinese Immersion teacher this school year. Xia Du came to Barrington 220 School District from Minnetonka, Minn. where she was involved in a similar program. She hails from Beijing and is excited to be a part of District 220. “I heard Barrington is a good school district,” Xia said. Barbara Rose principal Scott Carlson welcomed Xia in a new teacher orientation in early August. “We’re growing our program and we’ve added another rockstar teacher,” Carlson said. Xia got her Bachelor of Arts in Teaching at Capital Normal University in Beijing where she is from. More wasteful spending. If the parents of the immersion students what their offspring to learn Chinese, they should hire a tutor or other program and pay for it. Why does the entire district have to fund a specialty program for the few?   more ›
