Vicky Baftiri's love of Journalism started when she was just 10 years old. Instead of watching cartoons, like her peers, she watched CNN with her father. When Vicky graduated from grad school in 2006, she landed a job at WGN-TV as a news writer for the 9 o'clock news. Because of her ambitious nature, she moved on to produce special projects, working with WGN-TV's Allison Payne. As a result of highly produced, compelling news stories, Vicky was nominated for 5 Emmy's. She also produced CLTV's Metromix show, and contributed as an Assignment Editor for CLTV News.
From the Tribune-owned stations, she moved to produce two national entertainment/informational shows on NBC, also nominating her for 2 Emmy's.
Vicky holds a Bachelor's of Art in Journalism and a Master's of Art in Journalism. Vicky also speaks fluently in Albanian. She loves listening to music, reading, and being with friends and family.
Vicky is humbled and honored to be contributing to Barrington Patch.com and giving a local community a national voice.
