Tower Laker' Pranav Sivakumar placed second in the National Spelling Bee Thursday.
Sivakumar, an 8th grader at Barrington Middle School Station Campus, made it to round 15 of the bee before being eliminated. He misspelled the word “cyanophycean”, spelling it “cyanophycein.” The winner of the 2013 is Arvind Mahankali of Bayside Hills, New York who spelling the winning word “knaidel” correctly.
